We have managed the logistics of large hardware quantities across the country, including receiving, inventory tracking, warehousing, imaging, deployment and end-user installation. Over the past year, we have successfully deployed more than 40,000 units to federal government department end users.

The Canadian government’s green initiative requires us to operate as green as possible. This includes the manufacturing process and packaging. As Dell’s leading aboriginal reseller to the Canadian government, we like that at Dell, everything is built to order. This has a positive impact on the environment, reducing the need for warehouses and additional transportation. We consider Dell (as a supplier) to be an environmental solution as well.
A lot of government departments are looking for desktop virtualization. We developed SecurIX, a VPN alternative that incorporates advanced security management services and powerful centralized administration tools. SecurIX bundles a Dell PowerEdge R710 server with Dell Equallogic on the back end for storage.
Our solution is less expensive than conventional VM ware and Citrix solutions and takes up significantly less server and storage space because we are virtualizing just the workspace, not the whole operating system. As a result disaster recovery time is reduced to minutes, compared with hours or days for other systems. Nisha’s SecurIX can also be used to complement existing VMware and Citrix systems. Our solution matches 99.8 per cent host computer performance.
